In his 96' Oldsmobile, packed with his saxophone, some clothes, a sleeping bag, and a cot, Nick Anaya rolled into Chicago. It was March of 2005. He had no job, no place to live, and all of three friends in the area. He did however, have an undeniable reason for coming. That is/was to make music, create human bonds and interconnections, and change the soundscape of Chicago.
Nick's primary instrument is the Tenor Saxophone, but he also doubles on Soprano, Alto, Bari, Flute, and Melodica. His compositional background spans from Jazz and Experimental through Classical and on to Pop/Hip-Hop and Rock. He has led ensembles in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Houston, Texas.
